The new CCH was designed based on thousands of hours of customer feedback, and offers more than two dozen innovative features that make installation and troubleshooting of fiber optic connectivity faster, easier and more cost effective. The CLSSC housing was sold as the Closet Connector Housing (CCH) from 1996 to 2011, and was replaced by a new CCH design in 2012. The 3U and 4U versions include a tinted polycarbonate front door, and all housings can accept a field-installab le lock kit for the front door. The units include multiple locations for jumper egress and come with the universal cable clamp for cable strain-relief. Documentation labels are provided and components can be added as needed to construct a fiber distribution frame for any application. Classic Closet Connector Ho usings are compatible with CCH connector panels for multimode and single-mode applications in 6-, 8-, 12-, 16- and 24-fiber configurations. The 1U and 2U options feature a slide-out tray, while 3U and 4U options are designed with an open top at the front of the housing for ease of access and jumper routing. The 1U and 2U housings can also be mounted in 23-in (58 cm) equipment racks by flipping the provided 19-in mounting brackets, while optional 23-in extension brackets are available for the 3U and 4U housings. The units are designed for rack mou nting in 19-in (48 cm) racks or optional 23-in (58 cm) equipment racks (1.75-in EIA hole spacing). The housings accept CCH connector panels.

Corning classic closet connector housings (CLSSC) provide interconnect or cross-connect capabilities between outside plant, riser or distribution cables and opto-electronics.
